CTWF 2012 ¡ª Basics

The 11th CAS-TWAS-WMO FORUM, international  workshop on ¡°Terrestrial Ecosystems under the Changing Climate¡± will be held in the Beijing Fragrant Hill Empark hotel from September 2-5, 2012. 2012 CTWF will cover two sessions, with lecturers and participants from China and abroad.

Terrestrial Ecosystems under the Changing Climate
a)   Ecosystem structure, functioning, and biodiversity

Includes the observation and modeling of the patterns of  species distribution and migration, features of ecosystem functioning and biodiversity, ecosystem conservation and adaptation.

b)   Biophysical and biogeochemical processes in terrestrial ecosystem
Includes the observation and modeling of water, carbon, and nitrogen cycles between vegetation, soil, and atmosphere.
Ø    Research scientists who are interested / active in climate science, especially in the field of Terrestrial Ecosystemsin under the Changing Climate are welcome to submit abstracts in any of the two afore-mentioned sessions.
Ø    The registration fee is $150 (900CNY for domestic participants) and will be paid at the Workshop. Registration fee covers admission to the workshop, coffee breaks, banquet,all the workshop lunch and dinner, and one-day scientific field trip. Funds are available to partially or fully support very few selected participants. Partial financial support will cover participants¡¯ local accommodation cost. Participants could apply for financial support by filling the application form. 
Ø    Participants will be selected through the CV and the abstract they submitted to the workshop by the scientific committee of the workshop, further determine the financial support category.
Ø    Participants who would like to communicate with the lecturer and other participants are welcomed to present their own research outcomes and ideas through a 15-minute oral presentation or a poster presentation with the size of 85cm W * 120cm H.
